OUR OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT

Our outdoor play area is currently undergoing an exciting upgrade and the children are absolutely loving watching the space transform as lots of new areas are added! We believe that the outdoors is an essential extension of our learning environment, offering fresh air, open space, and endless opportunities for discover

Outdoor stage

Stage & Music Walls: Our outdoor performance stage and interactive music walls invite children to explore rhythm, sound, and movement. This area is incredible for boosting self-confidence, supporting auditory processing, and encouraging collaborative creative expression without the constraints of indoor volume levels.

Water play area

Sensory & Science Exploration

Getting messy outside is a fundamental part of early childhood, linking directly to early mathematics and understanding the world.

  • Water Play Area: Engaging with outdoor water play teaches children about practical physics and cause-and-effect. They learn to make predictions and observations as they explore how water flows, splashes, and changes the properties of other materials like sand or dirt.
  • Sand Kitchen & Sandpit: In these highly tactile areas, children mix, measure, and "bake" their creations. This hands-on play naturally introduces early mathematical concepts of volume, weight, and capacity while enhancing their fine motor coordination.

Active Adventures & Imaginative Journeys

Gross motor development and collaborative play take centre stage in our physical areas.

  • The Blue Boat: Our real boat invites children to climb aboard and set sail on imaginative voyages. This open-ended play builds teamwork, vital communication skills, and physical coordination as they navigate their vessel.
  • Climbing Equipment: Negotiating our climbing apparatus helps children develop core strength, balance, and spatial awareness. It also provides a safe environment for them to learn how to assess and manage physical risks, building their resilience and self-belief.
