Curriculum and Attainment

Making a difference where it matters most

We provide high quality Early Years education and family support for children and families living in our local community.

Our community and their needs

Happy Faces Childcare supports children and families living in an area of significant deprivation.

Many children enter our setting with delayed communication skills, limited social interaction and reduced access to enriching experiences. Our curriculum and family support programmes are designed to help every child thrive and become ready for school and lifelong learning.

IMPACT FOR PRIORITY GROUPS

We are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. During 2025-26 we provided targeted support to families facing additional barriers and monitored outcomes to ensure that gaps in attainment were reduced.

Children with SEND

  • 62.5% of children attending our setting were identified as having SEND or emerging additional needs.
  • 100% transitioned successfully into their next educational setting with appropriate support in place.

Impact

Targeted interventions, strong multi-agency working and close family partnerships helped children with SEND develop communication, independence and social skills.

Children Accessing Funded Places

  • 87.5% of children accessed 15 hours funded childcare places.

Impact

Access to high-quality early education improved children's confidence, language skills and school readiness whilst supporting parents into employment, training and education.

Children with English as an Additional Language (EAL)

  • 12.5% of children spoke English as an additional language.
  • 100% made progress in communication and language through targeted support.

Impact

A language-rich curriculum, visual supports and close partnership working with families enabled children to develop confidence communicating in English while valuing and celebrating their home languages.

Single Parent Households

  • 56.25% of families accessing our services were single parent households.

Impact

Our family support services helped reduce barriers to engagement, improved parental wellbeing and strengthened home learning opportunities for children.
